 How to choose a plan
There are many companies out there to choose from. It can be a daunting experience! Doing a google search is mind boggeling. And, looking in a web hosting directory shows the same companies over and over again. Big companies all vying for your money offering you oodles of space and bandwidth that you will never use or, even worse, unlimited space and bandwidth. And, the plans are cheap. But, are they affordable?
Let's take a look:
You find a plan that offers 50/50; 50gigs of disk space & 50gigs of bandwidth for say, $7.95 per mo.
- Will you ever use those amounts?
- If not who is using the rest of your disk space and bandwidth?
- If you are going to use that much, perhaps, your company is big enough to warrant using a dedicated server.

Many companies also offer control panels, automated billing, and dozens of other features - the same that AP Consultants offers you. So, how do you choose?
It is common to try to get as much as you can while paying the least. But, it isn't practical because that's what drives prices up in the first place. Cheap isn't practical. Perhaps the hosting company is undercapitalized because they offer much for very little. When things work, its easy to feel good about paying low fees for a service, but when things are not going well, suddenly low price service looks less attractive. To make a profit offering cheap prices takes a lot of customers and staff to handle those customers. In the end, you just become another number.
What to look for:
- the hosting company's common mission matches your beliefs and values.
- the storage and bandwidth truely matches the price and because you will actually use those amounts.
- Tech support is friendly and curteous.
- The company isn't so big that you get swallowed up.
